Leonard W. Sapp
Founder
Leonard W. SappMr. Leonard W. Sapp, a life-long resident of the Springfield community, was a leading central Illinois Real Estate Broker, developer and property manager before his retirement.  Mr. Sapp began his real estate career 50 years ago when he developed his first single family residential subdivision. He was the Founder and Chairman of the Board of Leonard W. Sapp and Associates and of Lincoln Land Development Company which has developed more than 2000 living units, 2500 acres of land and more than 1 million square feet of office and commercial space. 

He was active in the acquisition, development, construction, leasing and management of commercial mixed-use real estate projects involving hotels, retail stores, franchise restaurants, home improvements stores, banks, office buildings, upscale privately owned restaurants, to name a few.

His professional achievements include the past presidency of the Springfield Board of Realtors and of the Springfield Home Builders Association. In 1962, Mr. Sapp was instrumental in organizing and was the first president of the Springfield Multiple Listing Service. In 1984, Mr. Sapp was named Springfield Realtor of the Year, and in 1988 he was elected to the Springfield Realtor's Hall of Fame, has earned the CPM (Certified Property Manager) designation, is a graduate of the Real Estate Institute (GRI) and is founding member of the International Council of Shopping Centers.

Imagineering was a phrase used by the Imagineer himself to express his land development philosophies and practices.

Mr. Sapp passed away on January 25, 2007.
